Wineries across Virginia Wine Country continue to host fun, delicious, and fabulous activities for participants of the Virginia Women in Wine Trail. MARCH 27-31 – DUCARD VINEYARD (Etlan, VA)

MARCH 28-30 – HARDWARE HILLS VINEYARD  (Scottsville, VA)   

  • Women-Led Vineyard Tour — spend an hour sipping and stepping through the vineyard as the vines prepare to awaken from their winter nap.  By appointment, Andrea Nickels — owner, vineyard manager and winemaker — will take you on an exploration of the vines just steps from the tasting room.  Email to set up your special tour at admin@hardwarehills.com.
  • Female Favorites Flight — Hardware Hills is currently proud to employ an all-female tasting room staff.  These dedicated and passionate wine-lovers have crafter each of their very own FLIGHT FAVORITES for you to savor during open hours in March.  Will Lisa’s picks make you want more?  How about what Megan has selected?  Brooke has her very own flight list you’ll love.  Kim has crafted her masterpiece list!  Maybe you’d like what Lori has to offer.  It’s as much a friendly competition among our staff as it is a flightfully fun time for you.  Check out these Flight Favorites starting March 14th.

MARCH 28 FROM 6:30-8:30 PM – CUNNINGHAM CREEK WINERY & BREWERY  (Palmyra, VA)   

  • Ladies Sip-n-Paint with Debi Ryan – There’s an artist in all of us. Find your artistic self with Debi’s excellent instruction. Session takes place from 6:30-8:30 pm and is limited to 15 participants.  Cost: $40/person

MARCH 29 FROM 2-4 PM – CUNNINGHAM CREEK WINERY & BREWERY  (Palmyra, VA)   

  • Winemaker Series: Make Your Own Meritage Blend – Create your special Meritage blend and take home with your own unique bottle of Blend 2025. Experiment with varying amounts of Bordeaux grapes until you find the blend you love. Our winemaker will explain how he goes about creating our gold medal Meritage and Rivanna Red blends and then lend a helping hand as you take on the role of winemaker. Session takes place from 2-4 pm and is limited to 20 participants.  Cost: $58/person.

  • Wine & Art: Enjoy a month-long celebration of art, history, and culture with a Voices of Venus Art Exhibition! This unique exhibition showcases the works of all-female local artists—Ellen Fairchild-Flugel, Rachel Fitzsimmons, and Shawna Marsh. Each artist brings her own perspective to the theme of feminine artistic concepts and abstract expressions, with a special focus on historical imagery.   • Vertical Wine Tasting: Come explore 6 vintages of Magnolia Cabernet Sauvignon and discover why Virginia Cabernet Sauvignon is different than the varietal produced in other wine regions. You will also learn what impacts the weather and growing season have on the wine year to year.
